Villa Minas is a classical house gallery of antiques, arts, collectibles and crafts, home decors and furniture design, and inspirational ideas of authentic tropical garden, water ponds, illustrated woods and crafted ornamental landscape styles - the landmark of Doeloe Gallery.
Villa Minas epitomizes a passionate and appealing living lifestyle of a family mansion, creative, elegant and charming collection of vintage antiquities, curious and decorative and the re-creation of traditional and heritage serenity within the ‘residential periphery’.
The residence of Amin Isa and Sherifah Salim characterizes a harmoniously balanced yet spirited living perspective between the past and modern day, sophistication yet faithful and appreciative to cultural surroundings, historical values and childhood memories, and a desire for creativity, comfort and simplicity.
With such vision and philosophy, Villa Minas was established in 2002 on a 800 sq metres land in the shade of leafy trees and enchanting waters in a moderate vicinity of Persiaran Gurney within the City of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
Basically, the residence is approachable from the bustling main road via a short private service road secured by a contemporary main gate, a traditional javanese open garage, two serat gazebos and greeted by an illustrative main gapura. Within the residential periphery are the main double-storey modern design bungalow with built-up area of 500 sq metres, and the Malay heritage and Asian influence ancillaries comprising of a joglo gallery house, a javanese guest house, a jineng house, a sumatra store house, an artistic lumbong house and two smaller gapuras.
Ponds, water fountains, pots, terracottas, wooden vases, ornamental stones and a back pergola made up the rest of the defined residence isolated from the outside by a 3 metres high brick wall perimeter fencing. Pleasantly surprising though, the place is almost completely ignorant of the typically noisy city dwellings and one could hardly hear the normally vociferous sound of vehicles.
